To access and maintain Library Book inventory, choose Library Books on the left-hand side. Here is a grid with the books that are currently in the system. You can search the list by typing in the textbox (it says Search) above the grid. The grid can be sorted by clicking the headers, and paged by using the pagers at the bottom.
1. Choose Add Library Book at the top of the grid. You will be presented with a form where you can add book details.
a. Note that you can add various copies of the same book by clicking Add Copy at the bottom of the form.
2. Then click Save. The book is added to inventory.
Automatically Adding Inventory
To automatically add inventory to Candle by scanning ISBN numbers, a 1D barcode scanner (available on our website) and internet connection are required.)
1. Simply scan the book you would like to add. Candle will do a lookup online. (accesses olivetree.software)
2. If the book is found, it will automatically be added to the system.
3. There is no need to hit Save on the form that is displayed. This allows you to quickly add existing inventory without any user interactions from the keyboard or mouse.
Editing Inventory
Click the book in the grid you would like to edit and modify the details on the form provided. Then choose Save.
You can also edit a book by scanning the ISBN number on the back. If the book is found in inventory, it will find the book and display it. Otherwise, it will attempt an online lookup and add the book.
Removing Inventory
Click the trash can beside the book you would like to remove. Then click Delete again, on the popup, to confirm the change.
